More and more home owners today realize the importance of installing an alarm system in their home before a burglary or fire occurs.

Everyday, we receive calls from home owners after they have become victims of a break-in, and we witness the anguish, the lost sense of security and the frustration of losing irreplaceable valuables. Don't let this happen to you!

Home Sweet Home
ABF Yard Sign A security system is an important physical deterrent to burglary. If a burglar breaks into your home and "trips" a detection device, the system will go into alarm mode, and will send a signal to our Central Monitoring Office. When our operators receive the signal, they will immediately notify the police of the emergency. All of our alarm systems are monitored by our U.L. Listed 24-Hour Central Monitoring Center, because it provides the best possible protection for our valued customers.

An alarm system is also a visual deterrent. When a burglar sees your ABF yard sign and/or window decals, the intruder is more likely to choose a home that is an easier target.

TYPES OF HOME/RESIDENTIAL SECURITY SYSTEMS

ABF installs both wireless and hardwired systems. The basic difference between the two are the wiring and the batteries.

HARDWIRED SYSTEMS - These are ideal for homes that have accessible crawl spaces or new construction where it is easy to run wires. In existing construction some drilling will be necessary, however, most if not all wires are hidden from sight. Door and window contacts are also concealed out of view within the window or door frames, very similar to the switch on your refrigerator that turns the light on and off.

WIRELESS SYSTEMS - These types of systems are ideal for homes with high open ceilings, slab concrete floors, or other construction types that prevent installation and concealment of wires. The devices are a somewhat larger than their hardwired counterparts, due to the need for special lithium batteries for each device. The lithium batteries should be replaced approximately every 3 to 5 years. The lithium batteries can be purchased at camera departments of major retailers and replaced by the homeowner, or you can have ABF come to your house and replace them for you.

MONITORED HEAT/SMOKE DETECTORS - This is an important addition to the alarm system. The monitored smoke and heat detectors are on-line 24 hours a day, providing constant protection. If the devices detect smoke or fire in your home, the control panel will send a signal to our Central Monitoring Office, even when your security system is not armed. When our trained operators receive the signal, they will immediately notify the fire department for dispatch. This will allow more time for the fire department to save your home, property, and the lives of your loved ones. When it comes to fire protection, every second counts!

HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE DISCOUNT - By installing a monitored ABF security system, you can qualify for a significant discount on your homeowner's insurance! Also, including a monitored smoke detector with your system can give you an even larger homeowner's insurance discount! Ask your insurance representative for more details.
